Agricultural

We come from a farming background and understand why livestock fencing is important.

Agricultural fencing is designed, primarily, to contain livestock. The correct materials and specification combined with the proper installation methods ensure a stock proof fence will achieve its purpose for the duration of its desired life. We recommend to use as a minimum, a 15 yr desired life UC4 fence post. After this there are a few options – Pressure creosoted, Chestnut and other Hardwoods. Pressure creosoted posts are one of our most popular choices.

Stock fencing is the most common form of agricultural fencing and consists of a high tensile wire netting with one or two strands of either barbed wire or smooth wire placed above it. The wires are tensioned between straining posts that are designed to resist the tension of the wire, thus keeping it tight.

Barbed wire fencing is a common way of retaining cattle. It ranges from between 1 and 6 strands of high tensile barbed wire. Its quick to install, a good barrier and cost effective too.

Clipex Fencing is a standard stock or barbed wire fence that is built using a metal ‘Clipex’ Post. These are incredibly strong and are guaranteed for 30yrs. We’ve installed many miles of Clipex, with a popular option being to use Telegraph pole strainers and Clipex intermediate posts.

Deer Parks are increasing popular on large estates and small farms, the use of venison in the UK’s diet is increasing and so is the demand for us to install enclosures for farmed/park deer.

Deer Fencing has become one of our standard tasks whilst fencing on Estates, Arable Farms and even residential properties. The impact that an increasing deer population can have on new plantations of trees, arable crops and your lawn can be costly and upsetting. Deer fencing is a quick and effective way of preventing all the common species of deer from gaining access to your land.

Permanent electric fencing can be used for cattle, sheep and pigs. It utilises the same basic post arrangement as a stock fence with a series of smooth wires that carry current and one or two that are earth wires. The live wires are insulated from the posts to allow the current to deliver the required shock over the entire length of the fence. These systems are quick to erect and if maintained can provide a substantial barrier.

Post and rail fencing can be used as a very attractive and strong option to contain your livestock. For smaller animals netting can be attached before the rails.
